This antibody specifically targets CD80, also known as B7-1, a crucial cell surface protein involved in T cell activation and immune responses. By conjugating with FITC, this antibody enables precise and sensitive detection of CD80 in various experimental setups. This monoclonal antibody, generated against mouse CD80, boasts high specificity and sensitivity, making it an excellent choice for flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and other cellular and molecular biology techniques. Its reliable performance and reproducibility ensure accurate and consistent results in experimental settings where CD80 expression and function need to be investigated.
CD80, a co-stimulatory molecule expressed on antigen-presenting cells, plays a fundamental role in T cell activation and the modulation of immune responses. Understanding the regulation and function of CD80 is crucial for unraveling the complexities of immune regulation, autoimmune diseases, transplant rejection, and cancer immunotherapy. The Mouse CD80 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC Conjugated, 16-10A1) from AssayGenie provides researchers with a valuable tool to delve deeper into the mechanisms governed by CD80, paving the way for advancements in immunological research and therapeutic interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD80 is a 60 kD highly glycosylated protein. It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is also known as B7-1, B7, and Ly-53. CD80 is constitutively expressed on dendritic cells and monocytes/macrophages, and inducibly expressed on activated B and T cells. The ligation of CD28 on T cells with CD80 and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen presenting cells (such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells) elicits co-stimulation of T cells resulting in enhanced cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. CD80 appears to be expressed later in the immune response than CD86. CD80 can also bind to CD152, also known as CTLA-4, to deliver an inhibitory signal to T cells.
