The Mouse CD62L Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 Conjugated, Mel14) is a specialized tool for researchers studying immune cell adhesion and migration processes. This antibody, derived from mouse monoclonal sources, is designed to target CD62L, also known as L-selectin, a crucial adhesion molecule involved in lymphocyte homing and trafficking.CD62L is a key receptor expressed on the surface of lymphocytes, facilitating their entry into secondary lymphoid organs and interactions with high endothelial venules. The AF647 conjugation of this antibody allows for fluorescent detection, making it particularly suitable for flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications in tracking CD62L expression on different immune cell populations.
By specifically binding to CD62L, researchers can investigate the role of this adhesion molecule in immune responses, inflammation, and immune cell activation. The ability to visualize and quantify CD62L expression provides valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying immune cell migration and immune system function.Overall, the Mouse CD62L Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 Conjugated, Mel14) offers a reliable and powerful tool for immunologists, cell biologists, and researchers studying immune cell dynamics and interactions in various physiological and pathological contexts.

Background:
CD62L is a 74-95 kD glycoprotein also known as L-selectin, LECAM-1, Ly-22, LAM-1, and MEL-14. It is a member of the selectin family and is expressed on the majority of B and naïve T cells, a subset of memory T cells, monocytes, granulocytes, most thymocytes, and a subset of NK cells. CD62L is important in lymphocyte homing to high endothelial venules (HEV) in peripheral lymph nodes and leukocyte 'rolling' on activated endothelium. CD62L also contributes to neutrophil emigration at inflammatory sites. CD62L is rapidly shed from lymphocytes and neutrophils upon cellular activation and the expression levels of CD62L (in conjunction with other markers) have been used to distinguish naïve, effector, and memory T cells. CD62L has been reported to interact with CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1.
