The Mouse CD49b Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP-Cyanine5.5 Conjugated, DX5, AGEL1452) is a specialized research tool designed for the study of CD49b, a cell surface molecule known to be involved in immune responses and cell adhesion processes. This monoclonal antibody, formulated for use in flow cytometry applications, is produced using cutting-edge techniques to ensure high specificity and sensitivity in detecting CD49b in mouse samples.CD49b, also referred to as integrin alpha-2 or very late antigen-2 (VLA-2), is a key player in immune cell interactions and tissue homing processes. Its role in mediating adhesion and migration of immune cells makes it a crucial target for understanding immune-mediated diseases, such as inflammation, autoimmune disorders, and cancer metastasis.
By utilizing the Mouse CD49b Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately identify and quantify CD49b expression in various cell populations, aiding in the investigation of immune responses and disease mechanisms. This antibody is an essential tool for immunologists, oncologists, and researchers studying cell adhesion and immune system regulation. With its high quality and specificity, the Mouse CD49b Monoclonal Antibody offers reliable results and valuable insights into the functions of CD49b in health and disease.

Background:
DX5 antigen has been recently characterized as CD49b. It is a 150 kD integrin α chain also known as α2 integrin, VLA-2 α chain, and integrin α2 chain. CD49b non-covalently associates with CD29 (β1 integrin) to form the CD49b/CD29 complex known as VLA-2, a receptor for collagen and laminin. CD49b is expressed on platelets, the majority of NK cells, NKT cells, and a small subset of CD8+ T cells (this population can be significantly increased following viral infection). DX5 is used for the identification and isolation of NK cells, and is especially useful for identifying NK cells in mice lacking the NK1.1 antigen.
