The Mouse CD49b Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine7 Conjugated, clone DX5, AGEL1441) is a highly specific antibody designed for research applications involving the CD49b antigen, a cell surface molecule predominantly expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of T cells. This antibody, specifically conjugated with PE/Cyanine7, offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity for the detection and analysis of CD49b in various murine cell types, making it an invaluable tool for immunology and cancer research studies.CD49b, also known as integrin alpha-2, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration, particularly in the context of NK cell activation and function. Its expression pattern and functional significance in immune responses make it a key target for investigating immune cell interactions and behavior in different biological contexts.
The ability to detect and analyze CD49b expression using this monoclonal antibody opens up avenues for studying NK cell biology, immune responses, and potential therapeutic interventions in conditions such as cancer, infection, and autoimmune diseases. With its high specificity and excellent performance in flow cytometry and other immunological techniques, the Mouse CD49b Monoclonal Antibody (PE/Cyanine7 Conjugated, clone DX5, AGEL1441) is an indispensable tool for researchers aiming to explore the role of CD49b in immune regulation and its implications for health and disease.

Background:
DX5 antigen has been recently characterized as CD49b. It is a 150 kD integrin α chain also known as α2 integrin, VLA-2 α chain, and integrin α2 chain. CD49b non-covalently associates with CD29 (β1 integrin) to form the CD49b/CD29 complex known as VLA-2, a receptor for collagen and laminin. CD49b is expressed on platelets, the majority of NK cells, NKT cells, and a small subset of CD8+ T cells (this population can be significantly increased following viral infection). DX5 is used for the identification and isolation of NK cells, and is especially useful for identifying NK cells in mice lacking the NK1.1 antigen.
