The Mouse CD366 (Tim-3) Monoclonal Antibody (RMT3-23) is a PE-conjugated antibody designed for research involving Tim-3, a cell surface protein known for its role in regulating immune responses. The antibody, derived from mouse cells, is highly specific and reactive with mouse samples, validated for use in flow cytometry applications. It binds to the CD366 (Tim-3) protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in immunology and cancer research.CD366 (Tim-3) is an immune checkpoint molecule that plays a crucial role in immune regulation by suppressing excessive immune responses and preventing autoimmunity.
Its involvement in T cell exhaustion and tolerance makes it a promising target for research into immunotherapy and autoimmune diseases. Understanding the function of CD366 (Tim-3) is essential for developing novel therapeutic approaches that leverage its regulatory effects on immune cells in the context of cancer and chronic inflammatory conditions.

Background:
CD366 (Tim-3) is a transmembrane protein also known as T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein-3. Tim-3 is expressed at high levels on activated T cells (preferentially on Th1 cells, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells). Tim-3 has also been shown to exist as a soluble protein. Cells expressing Tim-3 are present at high levels in the CNS of animals at the onset of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a disease mediated by lymphocytes secreting Th1-like cytokines. Tim-3 has been proposed to inhibit Th1-mediated immune responses and promote immunological tolerance.
