The Mouse CD31 Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 Conjugated) is a specialized tool for researchers studying CD31, a key marker of endothelial cells and platelets. This antibody, created through monoclonal technology, is highly specific to mouse samples and is optimized for use in fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry applications. By targeting the CD31 protein, this antibody allows for precise visualization and analysis of endothelial cells and platelets in various tissues, providing valuable insight into vascular biology, angiogenesis, and thrombosis.
CD31, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1), plays a crucial role in maintaining vascular integrity and regulating immune cell trafficking. Its expression on endothelial cells and platelets makes it a valuable biomarker for studying processes such as inflammation, angiogenesis, and coagulation. Research into CD31 can lead to a better understanding of cardiovascular diseases, cancer metastasis, and immune-mediated disorders, ultimately contributing to the development of targeted therapies and diagnostic tools.

Background:
CD31 is a 130-140 kD glycoprotein, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1) and EndoCAM. It is a member of the Ig superfamily, expressed on endothelial cells, platelets, granulocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and T and B cell subsets, and is critical for cell-cell interactions. The primary ligands for CD31 have been reported to be CD38 and the vitronectin receptor (αv β3 integrin, CD51/CD61). Other reported functions of CD31 are neutrophil emigration to sites of inflammation and angiogenesis.
