The Mouse CD31 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 conjugated) is a powerful tool for researchers studying vascular biology and endothelial cells. This antibody, designated as 390 (AGEL1925), specifically targets CD31, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1), which is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in endothelial cell adhesion and signaling.Developed for use in immunofluorescence applications, this antibody is conjugated with AF488, a fluorescent dye that emits a bright green signal when excited by appropriate wavelengths of light. This feature allows for visualization and localization of CD31 within cells and tissues with high specificity and sensitivity. Researchers can effectively examine CD31 expression patterns, cell morphology, and interactions in various experimental settings.
The unique binding specificity of this monoclonal antibody enables precise detection and quantification of CD31 expression in mouse samples, facilitating detailed analysis of endothelial cells and their functions. By targeting CD31, researchers can gain insights into vascular development, angiogenesis, inflammation, and other processes where endothelial cells play a critical role.Overall, the Mouse CD31 Monoclonal Antibody (AF488 conjugated) 390 (AGEL1925) serves as an indispensable tool for investigating endothelial biology and understanding the role of CD31 in physiological and pathological conditions, offering valuable data for studies in vascular biology, angiogenesis, and related fields.

Background:
CD31 is a 130-140 kD glycoprotein, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1) and EndoCAM. It is a member of the Ig superfamily, expressed on endothelial cells, platelets, granulocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and T and B cell subsets, and is critical for cell-cell interactions. The primary ligands for CD31 have been reported to be CD38 and the vitronectin receptor (αv β3 integrin, CD51/CD61). Other reported functions of CD31 are neutrophil emigration to sites of inflammation and angiogenesis.
