The Mouse CD279 (PD-1) Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 Conjugated, 29F.1A12) is a powerful tool for research in immunology and cancer biology. This antibody, available from AssayGenie, specifically targets the PD-1 protein, a key immune checkpoint receptor with essential roles in regulating immune responses.PD-1, also known as Programmed cell death protein 1, is a critical immune checkpoint receptor that plays a key role in regulating immune responses and maintaining self-tolerance. By binding to its ligands, PD-1 negatively regulates T cell activation and helps prevent overactive immune responses that can lead to autoimmunity or chronic inflammation. The AF647-conjugated 29F.1A12 monoclonal antibody offers high specificity and sensitivity for detecting PD-1 in various cell types and tissue samples.
Its conjugation with AF647 allows for easy visualization and analysis of PD-1 expression using fluorescence-based techniques, such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy.Researchers studying immune checkpoint pathways, tumor immunology, and immunotherapy will find the Mouse CD279 (PD-1) Monoclonal Antibody (AF647 Conjugated, 29F.1A12) to be a valuable tool for investigating the role of PD-1 in immune regulation and its potential as a therapeutic target in cancer. Trust AssayGenie for high-quality antibodies that deliver reliable results for your research needs.

Background:
CD279, also known as programmed death-1 (PD-1), is a 50-55 kD glycoprotein belonging to the CD28 family of the Ig superfamily. PD-1 is expressed on activated splenic T and B cells and thymocytes. It is induced on activated myeloid cells as well. PD-1 is involved in lymphocyte clonal selection and peripheral tolerance through binding its ligands, B7-H1 (PD-L1) and B7-DC (PD-L2). It has been reported that PD-1 and PD-L1 interactions are critical to positive selection and play a role in shaping the T cell repertoire. PD-L1 negative costimulation is essential for prolonged survival of intratesticular islet allografts.
