The Mouse CD18 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC-conjugated) M12/2 (AG-EL1418) is a specialized antibody designed for research involving CD18, a crucial cell surface molecule involved in immune response and cell adhesion. This monoclonal antibody, derived from mice, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards mouse CD18, making it an invaluable tool for immunology and cell biology studies.CD18, also known as integrin beta-2, plays a vital role in mediating cell-cell interactions and promoting immune cell activation and migration. By targeting CD18, researchers can investigate key cellular processes such as leukocyte adhesion, signaling, and migration in various experimental settings. This FITC-conjugated antibody enables the visualization and analysis of CD18-expressing cells in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications, providing insights into immune cell dynamics and function.
The utility of the Mouse CD18 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC-conjugated) M12/2 (AG-EL1418) extends to fields like immunology, inflammation, and infectious diseases where understanding immune cell behavior is essential. By employing this antibody in research, scientists can unravel the intricacies of immune responses, inflammatory pathways, and disease mechanisms associated with aberrant CD18 function. Its reliability and specificity make it a valuable resource for investigations aimed at elucidating the roles of CD18 in health and disease contexts.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD18 is a 95 kD protein, also known as integrin β2 subunit. It is expressed on all leukocytes. CD18, in association with integrin α chain CD11a, CD11b, and CD11c forms LFA-1, Mac-1, and αXβ2, respectively, and plays an important role in leukocytes adhesion. The CD18 integrin complexes bind ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-3 (CD50), iC3b, and fibrinogen.
