The Mouse CD18 Monoclonal Antibody (Biotin Conjugated, M12/2) is a specialized research tool offered by AssayGenie for studies involving CD18, a crucial cell surface molecule involved in immune responses, particularly in cell adhesion and migration processes. This monoclonal antibody, produced for mouse samples, is conjugated with biotin for enhanced detection and is validated for various applications, including flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.CD18, also known as integrin beta-2, plays a pivotal role in mediating interactions between leukocytes and endothelial cells during inflammation and immune surveillance. Its involvement in cell adhesion and transmigration across endothelial barriers makes it a key player in immune system function and inflammatory responses.
Researchers studying immunology, inflammation, and infectious diseases can benefit from using this antibody to detect and analyze CD18 expression in different cell types and tissues. The specific binding of the Mouse CD18 Monoclonal Antibody enables precise detection and characterization of CD18 expression patterns, aiding in the understanding of immune cell behavior and function in various physiological and pathological conditions. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of CD18 in immune cell recruitment, activation, and tissue infiltration, offering insights that can inform the development of targeted therapies for inflammatory disorders and immune-related diseases.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 1.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
CD18 is a 95 kD protein, also known as integrin β2 subunit. It is expressed on all leukocytes. CD18, in association with integrin α chain CD11a, CD11b, and CD11c forms LFA-1, Mac-1, and αXβ2, respectively, and plays an important role in leukocytes adhesion. The CD18 integrin complexes bind ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-3 (CD50), iC3b, and fibrinogen.
