The Mouse CD117 Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated, 2B8) (AGEL1187) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD117, a cell surface receptor involved in cell signaling and differentiation. This antibody, specifically designed for use in flow cytometry applications, is raised in mice and exhibits high reactivity with mouse samples.CD117, also known as c-kit or stem cell factor receptor, plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including hematopoiesis, melanogenesis, and gametogenesis. Its expression is widely observed in stem cells, progenitor cells, and certain cancer cells, making it a valuable marker for identifying and characterizing these cell populations.
The APC conjugation of this monoclonal antibody allows for easy detection and quantification of CD117 expression in different cell types, providing valuable insights into stem cell biology, developmental processes, and malignant transformation. Researchers in fields such as cell biology, oncology, and regenerative medicine will find this antibody essential for their studies on CD117-mediated signaling pathways and cellular functions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD117 is a 145 kD immunoglobulin superfamily member also known as c-Kit and stem cell factor receptor (SCFR). It is a transmembrane tyrosine-kinase receptor that binds the c-Kit ligand (also known as steel factor, stem cell factor, and mast cell growth factor). CD117 is expressed on hematopoietic stem cells (including multipotent hematopoietic stem cells, progenitors committed to myeloid and/or erythroid lineages, and T and B cell precursors), mast cells, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. CD117 interaction with its ligand is critical for the development of hematopoietic stem cells.
