The MMP13 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16920) is specifically designed for research involving MMP13, a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family known for its role in degrading extracellular matrix components. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.MMP13 is a key enzyme involved in tissue remodeling and plays a critical role in various physiological and pathological processes, including wound healing, arthritis, and cancer metastasis. The MMP13 Polyclonal Antibody binds specifically to MMP13 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.
Research into MMP13 is important for understanding its involvement in disease progression and tissue remodeling, making this antibody a valuable tool for studies in the fields of cancer biology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. By elucidating the mechanisms by which MMP13 operates, researchers can potentially develop targeted therapies for diseases associated with dysregulated matrix metalloproteinase activity.

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase M10 family of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Proteins in this family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease. This protease cleaves type II collagen more efficiently than types I and III. It may be involved in articular cartilage turnover and cartilage pathophysiology associated with osteoarthritis. Mutations in this gene are associated with metaphyseal anadysplasia. This gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes on chromosome 11.
