The MMP12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1709) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Matrix Metalloproteinase 12 (MMP12), an enzyme involved in tissue remodeling and inflammation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is specifically designed to react with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to MMP12, the antibody allows for the detection and analysis of this protein in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in immunology, cancer research, and tissue remodeling.
MMP12 is known for its role in degrading extracellular matrix proteins, which can contribute to pathological conditions such as cancer metastasis and chronic inflammatory diseases. By targeting MMP12, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies. The MMP12 Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for investigating the function of MMP12 and its potential as a therapeutic target in various disease contexts.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 200-300 of human MMP12 (NP_002417.2).
This gene encodes a member of the peptidase M10 family of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Proteins in this family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease. This protease degrades soluble and insoluble elastin. This gene may play a role in aneurysm formation and mutations in this gene are associated with lung function and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes on chromosome 11.
