The MMP-1 Polyclonal Antibody (H440) is a powerful tool for researchers studying Matrix Metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), an enzyme involved in tissue remodeling and degradation of extracellular matrix proteins. The antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and is optimized for Western blotting applications. By targeting MMP-1, researchers can detect and quantify this enzyme in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in cancer metastasis, wound healing, and tissue repair.MMP-1 is known for its role in tumor invasion and metastasis, making it a key player in cancer progression.
By understanding the expression and activity of MMP-1, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying tumor growth and spread. Additionally, MMP-1 is implicated in various other pathologies, such as arthritis and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance as a target for therapeutic intervention. The MMP-1 Polyclonal Antibody enables precise detection and analysis of MMP-1 levels, providing valuable information for basic research and drug development efforts in these disease areas.

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase M10 family of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Proteins in this family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease. This secreted protease breaks down the interstitial collagens, including types I, II, and III. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes on chromosome 11. Mutations in this gene are associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that is proteolytically processed.
