The MLKL Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for researchers studying mixed lineage kinase domain-like (MLKL) protein, a key player in regulated cell death pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting MLKL protein in various biological samples, particularly in Western blot applications. By targeting the MLKL protein, this antibody facilitates the investigation and characterization of cell death mechanisms in diverse cell types, making it well-suited for research in cell biology and disease pathology.
MLKL is a critical mediator of necroptosis, a form of programmed cell death that plays a role in various pathological conditions, including inflammation, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and neurodegenerative diseases. Understanding the regulation of MLKL activity is essential for elucidating the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and developing potential therapeutic interventions. The MLKL Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool to explore the functions of MLKL and its implications in health and disease.

This gene belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. The encoded protein contains a protein kinase-like domain; however, is thought to be inactive because it lacks several residues required for activity. This protein plays a critical role in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-induced necroptosis, a programmed cell death process, via interaction with receptor-interacting protein 3 (RIP3), which is a key signaling molecule in necroptosis pathway. Inhibitor studies and knockdown of this gene inhibited TNF-induced necrosis. High levels of this protein and RIP3 are associated with inflammatory bowel disease in children. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.
