The MLKL Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17312) is a valuable tool for researchers studying mixed lineage kinase domain-like (MLKL) protein, a key player in programmed cell death pathways. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has a high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MLKL protein, this antibody allows for detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential reagent for studies in cell biology, apoptosis, and necroptosis.MLKL is a critical component of the necroptosis pathway, a form of programmed cell death that can occur in response to certain stimuli.
Dysregulation of necroptosis has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and inflammatory conditions. The MLKL Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers the opportunity to investigate the role of MLKL in these disease processes and explore potential therapeutic interventions targeting this pathway. With its specificity and sensitivity, the MLKL Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers seeking to understand the molecular mechanisms of cell death and explore new avenues for therapeutic development.

This gene belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. The encoded protein contains a protein kinase-like domain; however, is thought to be inactive because it lacks several residues required for activity. This protein plays a critical role in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-induced necroptosis, a programmed cell death process, via interaction with receptor-interacting protein 3 (RIP3), which is a key signaling molecule in necroptosis pathway. Inhibitor studies and knockdown of this gene inhibited TNF-induced necrosis. High levels of this protein and RIP3 are associated with inflammatory bowel disease in children. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.
