Description
Anti-MLKL Antibody (CAB11458)
The MLKL Monoclonal Antibody (CAB11458) is a valuable tool for researchers interested in studying mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein (MLKL), a key player in the necroptosis cell death pathway. This monoclonal antibody, derived from mouse hybridoma cells, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detection of MLKL in human samples, making it an essential reagent for experiments such as Western blotting and immunofluorescence.MLKL is a critical mediator of necroptosis, a form of programmed cell death that can contribute to inflammation and tissue damage in various pathological conditions, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and immune-related disorders.
By targeting MLKL with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying necroptosis and its role in disease development.Overall, the MLKL Monoclonal Antibody (CAB11458) is a valuable tool for researchers investigating necroptosis and its implications in various disease states. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for detecting and studying MLKL in a research setting, ultimately contributing to a better understanding of necroptotic cell death pathways.

Background: | This gene belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. The encoded protein contains a protein kinase-like domain; however, is thought to be inactive because it lacks several residues required for activity. This protein plays a critical role in tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-induced necroptosis, a programmed cell death process, via interaction with receptor-interacting protein 3 (RIP3), which is a key signaling molecule in necroptosis pathway. Inhibitor studies and knockdown of this gene inhibited TNF-induced necrosis. High levels of this protein and RIP3 are associated with inflammatory bowel disease in children. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. |
UniProt Protein Function: | MLKL: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
