The Anti-MGST1 Antibody (CAB0880) is a highly specific and sensitive tool for research involving the MGST1 protein, which plays a key role in cellular antioxidant defense mechanisms. This polyclonal antibody, generated in rabbits, is optimized for use in various applications such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.MGST1, also known as microsomal glutathione S-transferase 1, is a crucial enzyme involved in the detoxification of lipid peroxidation products and the maintenance of cellular redox balance. Dysregulation of MGST1 has been implicated in oxidative stress-related diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammatory conditions.
As such, this antibody can facilitate studies aiming to elucidate the role of MGST1 in these pathological processes.By targeting the MGST1 protein, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying oxidative stress and explore potential therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with redox imbalance. The Anti-MGST1 Antibody (CAB0880) is a valuable tool for investigating the intricate mechanisms of cellular antioxidant defense and advancing our understanding of oxidative stress-related pathologies.

The MAPEG (Membrane Associated Proteins in Eicosanoid and Glutathione metabolism) family consists of six human proteins, two of which are involved in the production of leukotrienes and prostaglandin E, important mediators of inflammation. Other family members, demonstrating glutathione S-transferase and peroxidase activities, are involved in cellular defense against toxic, carcinogenic, and pharmacologically active electrophilic compounds. This gene encodes a protein that catalyzes the conjugation of glutathione to electrophiles and the reduction of lipid hydroperoxides. This protein is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and outer mitochondrial membrane where it is thought to protect these membranes from oxidative stress. Several transcript variants, some non-protein coding and some protein coding, have been found for this gene.
