The MGAT5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10567) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the MGAT5 protein, a key enzyme involved in complex N-glycan biosynthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications such as Western blotting.MGAT5, also known as beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase, plays a crucial role in the modification of glycoproteins, impacting cellular processes such as cell-cell interactions, cell signaling, and immune response. Dysregulation of MGAT5 expression has been linked to various diseases including cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target.
By enabling the detection and analysis of MGAT5 in different cell types, the CAB10567 antibody offers researchers the opportunity to further investigate the function and regulation of this enzyme in physiological and pathological conditions. Understanding the molecular mechanisms involving MGAT5 can provide valuable insights for the development of targeted therapies and diagnostic tools in the fields of glycobiology, immunology, and oncology.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glycosyltransferase family. It catalyzes the addition of beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosamine to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linked oligosaccharides present on the newly synthesized glycoproteins. It is one of the most important enzymes involved in the regulation of the biosynthesis of glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Alterations of the oligosaccharides on cell surface glycoproteins cause significant changes in the adhesive or migratory behavior of a cell. Increase in the activity of this enzyme has been correlated with the progression of invasive malignancies.
