The MGAT5 Antibody (CAB10567) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications such as Western blotting.MGAT5, also known as beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase, plays a crucial role in the modification of glycoproteins, impacting cellular processes such as cell-cell interactions, cell signaling, and immune response. Dysregulation of MGAT5 expression has been linked to various diseases including cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glycosyltransferase family. It catalyzes the addition of beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosamine to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linked oligosaccharides present on the newly synthesized glycoproteins. It is one of the most important enzymes involved in the regulation of the biosynthesis of glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Alterations of the oligosaccharides on cell surface glycoproteins cause significant changes in the adhesive or migratory behavior of a cell. Increase in the activity of this enzyme has been correlated with the progression of invasive malignancies.
