The MGAT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9134) is a valuable tool for researchers studying MGAT2, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of complex N-glycans. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.MGAT2 plays a crucial role in the processing and modification of glycoproteins, which are essential for various biological processes including cell signaling, protein folding, and immune responses. By targeting MGAT2 with this specific antibody, researchers can investigate the function and regulation of this enzyme in different cell types, providing insights into its role in diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and infectious diseases.
With its ability to detect MGAT2 protein levels and localization, this antibody is an essential tool for research in glycobiology, cell biology, and drug development. By studying MGAT2 and its impact on glycan structures, researchers can advance our understanding of complex biological processes and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.

The product of this gene is a Golgi enzyme catalyzing an essential step in the conversion of oligomannose to complex N-glycans. The enzyme has the typical glycosyltransferase domains: a short N-terminal cytoplasmic domain, a hydrophobic non-cleavable signal-anchor domain, and a C-terminal catalytic domain. Mutations in this gene may lead to carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome, type II. The coding region of this gene is intronless. Transcript variants with a spliced 5' UTR may exist, but their biological validity has not been determined.
