The MET Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17366) is a versatile tool for researchers studying the MET receptor, a crucial player in cell growth, proliferation, and survival pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MET protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in cancer biology and developmental biology. The MET receptor, also known as hepatocyte growth factor receptor, is a key regulator of cell growth and survival, with dysregulation of its signaling pathway implicated in various diseases, including cancer.
Understanding the function of MET is vital for uncovering new therapeutic targets and developing precision medicine approaches for cancer treatment. The MET Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable method for investigating the role of MET in disease progression and identifying potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene encodes a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family of proteins and the product of the proto-oncogene MET. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate alpha and beta subunits that are linked via disulfide bonds to form the mature receptor. Further processing of the beta subunit results in the formation of the M10 peptide, which has been shown to reduce lung fibrosis. Binding of its ligand, hepatocyte growth factor, induces dimerization and activation of the receptor, which plays a role in cellular survival, embryogenesis, and cellular migration and invasion. Mutations in this gene are associated with papillary renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and various head and neck cancers. Amplification and overexpression of this gene are also associated with multiple human cancers.
