Description
MBP Monoclonal Antibody (MACO0652)
The MBP Monoclonal Antibody (MACO0652) is a valuable tool for researchers studying myelin basic protein (MBP), a key component of the myelin sheath in the nervous system. This antibody, produced using hybridomas, is highly specific to human MBP and has been validated for use in various experimental applications, including immunohistochemistry and ELISA.MBP is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system, as it plays a critical role in insulating nerve fibers and promoting efficient signal transmission. Dysregulation of MBP has been implicated in various neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases. The ability to accurately detect and measure MBP levels in cells and tissues is vital for understanding the underlying mechanisms of these conditions and developing potential treatments.
The MBP Monoclonal Antibody (MACO0652) provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating MBP biology and its role in neurological diseases. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for studies aimed at elucidating the molecular pathways associated with myelin maintenance and repair. By utilizing this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the pathophysiology of neurological disorders and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for intervention.

Background: | Maltose-Binding Protein (MBP) is a native E. coli protein and is part of a complex responsible for the uptake and efficient catabolism of maltodextrins. MBP is composed of 370 amino acid residues. As a fusion tag, MBP is useful for recombinant protein purification by affinity chromatography. It is also used to increase the expression level and solubility of the tagged protein, and for promoting proper folding of the attached protein. MBP increases solubility and the tag is thus particularly useful for recombinant proteins that may otherwise accumulate in an insoluble forms as inclusion bodies. Affinity purification takes place under physiological conditions and mild elution is performed using maltose. The mild elution conditions preserve the activity of the MBP-tagged protein. |
