The MAPK14 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB11340) is a crucial tool for researchers studying the MAPK14 protein, a key player in cellular signaling pathways that regulate processes such as inflammation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. This antibody, derived from rabbit serum, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for Western blotting applications.MAPK14, also known as p38α, is involved in various cellular responses to external stimuli, including stress and cytokines. Dysregulation of MAPK14 signaling has been implicated in numerous diseases, including cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
By targeting and detecting the MAPK14 protein, researchers can gain insights into its role in disease progression and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets. With its ability to specifically bind to MAPK14, the CAB11340 Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to study the protein's expression levels and activation status in different cell types and experimental conditions. By understanding the intricate signaling pathways involving MAPK14, scientists can uncover potential strategies for developing targeted therapies for a wide range of diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. This kinase is activated by various environmental stresses and proinflammatory cytokines. The activation requires its phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), or its autophosphorylation triggered by the interaction of MAP3K7IP1/TAB1 protein with this kinase. The substrates of this kinase include transcription regulator ATF2, MEF2C, and MAX, cell cycle regulator CDC25B, and tumor suppressor p53, which suggest the roles of this kinase in stress related transcription and cell cycle regulation, as well as in genotoxic stress response. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
