Description
MACC1 Antibody (PACO55982)
The MACC1 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC055982) is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of MACC1, a transcriptional regulator involved in cancer metastasis and progression. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity with human samples, making it suitable for use in various applications such as Western blot and immunohistochemistry.MACC1, also known as metastasis-associated in colon cancer 1, is a key player in the metastatic process by promoting tumor cell migration and invasion.
Understanding the function and regulation of MACC1 is crucial for identifying potential therapeutic targets and developing strategies to combat cancer metastasis. The MACC1 Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze MACC1 expression in cancer cells, providing valuable insights for cancer biology and drug discovery research.

Western Blot. Positive WB detected in: Hela whole cell lysate, 293 whole cell lysate, A549 whole cell lysate, HepG2 whole cell lysate. All lanes: MACC1 antibody at 3µg/ml. Secondary. Goat polyclonal to rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution. Predicted band size: 97 kDa. Observed band size: 97 kDa.
Immunofluorescence staining of MCF-7 cells with PACO55982 at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
IHC image of PACO55982 diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human liver tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
Background: | Acts as a transcription activator for MET and as a key regulator of HGF-MET signaling. Promotes cell motility, proliferation and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-dependent scattering in vitro and tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. |
Synonyms: | Metastasis-associated in colon cancer protein 1 (SH3 domain-containing protein 7a5), MACC1 |

NCBI Summary: | MACC1 is a key regulator of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF; MIM 142409)-HGF receptor (HGFR, or MET; MIM 164860) pathway, which is involved in cellular growth, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, angiogenesis, cell motility, invasiveness, and metastasis. Expression of MACC1 in colon cancer (MIM 114500) specimens is an independent prognostic indicator for metastasis formation and metastasis-free survival (Stein et al., 2009 [PubMed 19098908]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2009] |
