The LYRM1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15483) is a valuable tool for researchers studying LYRM1, a protein involved in mitochondrial biology and metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is specifically designed for use in various research applications, with a high reactivity towards human samples. LYRM1 plays a crucial role in mitochondrial protein import and assembly, making it a key player in cellular energy production. Dysregulation of LYRM1 has been linked to various diseases, including metabolic disorders and neurological conditions.
By using the LYRM1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the expression of LYRM1 in different cell types, aiding in the understanding of its function and potential therapeutic implications. This antibody is validated for use in Western blot applications, making it an essential tool for studies in mitochondrial biology, metabolism, and related diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the mitochondrial leucine/tyrosine/arginine motif family of proteins. Proteins of this family are short polypeptides that contain a leucine/tyrosine/arginine motif near the N-terminus. This gene is widely expressed with high levels in omental adipose tissue of obese individuals. In adipose tissue, the protein is localized to the nucleus where it promotes preadipocyte proliferation and lowers the rate of apoptosis to regulate adipose tissue homeostasis. Overexpression of this gene in adipocytes causes abnormal mitochondrial morphology and mitochondrial dysfunction. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
