Description
LOXL3 Antibody (PACO28001)
The LOXL3 Antibody (PAC028001) is a valuable tool for researchers studying lysyl oxidase-like 3 (LOXL3), an enzyme involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue homeostasis. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to LOXL3 and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.LOXL3 plays a critical role in the crosslinking of collagen and elastin fibers, contributing to the structural integrity of tissues such as skin, blood vessels, and lungs. Dysregulation of LOXL3 expression has been linked to a variety of diseases, including fibrosis, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders.
By using the LOXL3 Antibody, researchers can investigate the expression levels and localization of LOXL3 in different cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its function and potential therapeutic implications.Overall, the LOXL3 Antibody is a powerful tool for advancing research in areas such as tissue remodeling, fibrosis, and cancer biology. Its high sensitivity and specificity make it a reliable choice for scientists seeking to understand the role of LOXL3 in health and disease.

Background: | Both isoforms function as amine oxidases toward elastin and different types of collagens. Isoform 1 shows the highest activity toward collagen type VIII, while Isoform 2 presents the highest activity toward collagen type IV. |
Synonyms: | Lysyl oxidase homolog 3 (EC 1.4.3.-) (EC 1.4.3.13) (Lysyl oxidase-like protein 3), LOXL3, LOXL |
UniProt Protein Function: | LOXL3: a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family. The prototypic member of the family is essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue, encoding an extracellular copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyses the first step in the formation of crosslinks in collagens and elastin. A highly conserved amino acid sequence at the C-terminus end appears to be sufficient for amine oxidase activity, suggesting that each family member may retain this function. The N-terminus is poorly conserved and may impart additional roles in developmental regulation, senescence, tumor suppression, cell growth control, and chemotaxis to each member of the family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
