The LOXL2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14638) is a valuable tool for researchers studying LOXL2, an enzyme involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue fibrosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity with human samples, making it suitable for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the LOXL2 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential asset for studies in cancer research, fibrosis, and tissue remodeling.LOXL2, a member of the lysyl oxidase enzyme family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of extracellular matrix organization and crosslinking of collagen and elastin fibers.
Dysregulation of LOXL2 has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including cancer metastasis and fibrotic diseases. Therefore, understanding the function and expression of LOXL2 is essential for developing targeted therapies to intervene in these processes and improve patient outcomes. The LOXL2 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the role of LOXL2 in disease pathogenesis and explore potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene encodes a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family. The prototypic member of the family is essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue, encoding an extracellular copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyses the first step in the formation of crosslinks in collagens and elastin. A highly conserved amino acid sequence at the C-terminus end appears to be sufficient for amine oxidase activity, suggesting that each family member may retain this function. The N-terminus is poorly conserved and may impart additional roles in developmental regulation, senescence, tumor suppression, cell growth control, and chemotaxis to each member of the family.
