The LIMS1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6384) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the LIMS1 protein, a key regulator of cell adhesion and migration. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications. By specifically targeting the LIMS1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of LIMS1 expression in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in cell biology and cancer research.LIMS1, also known as LIM and senescent cell antigen-like domains 1, is involved in signaling pathways that control cell adhesion and migration, making it crucial for processes such as tissue development and wound healing.
Dysregulation of LIMS1 has been linked to cancer metastasis and progression, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target in oncology research. By gaining a better understanding of the role of LIMS1 in cellular function, researchers can potentially develop novel treatments for cancer and other diseases characterized by abnormal cell migration.

The protein encoded by this gene is an adaptor protein which contains five LIM domains, or double zinc fingers. The protein is likely involved in integrin signaling through its LIM domain-mediated interaction with integrin-linked kinase, found in focal adhesion plaques. It is also thought to act as a bridge linking integrin-linked kinase to NCK adaptor protein 2, which is involved in growth factor receptor kinase signaling pathways. Its localization to the periphery of spreading cells also suggests that this protein may play a role in integrin-mediated cell adhesion or spreading. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
