The LIM Domain Kinase 2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5409) is a valuable tool for researchers studying LIM Domain Kinase 2 (LIMK2), a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell motility. This antibody, raised in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to LIMK2, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of LIMK2 protein in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in cell biology and cancer research.LIMK2 is involved in cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation, making it a crucial player in processes such as embryonic development and wound healing.
Dysregulation of LIMK2 has been linked to diseases like cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting the importance of understanding its function and signaling pathways. The LIM Domain Kinase 2 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool for exploring the role of LIMK2 in these diseases and developing targeted therapies.

There are approximately 40 known eukaryotic LIM proteins, so named for the LIM domains they contain. LIM domains are highly conserved cysteine-rich structures containing 2 zinc fingers. Although zinc fingers usually function by binding to DNA or RNA, the LIM motif probably mediates protein-protein interactions. LIM kinase-1 and LIM kinase-2 belong to a small subfamily with a unique combination of 2 N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal protein kinase domain. The protein encoded by this gene is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, and the encoded protein, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. It is thought that this pathway contributes to Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. At least three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
