The LILRB2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12157) is a valuable tool for researchers studying LILRB2, a cell surface receptor involved in immune regulation and tolerance. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it suitable for a variety of immunological assays including Western blotting. By targeting the LILRB2 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of LILRB2 expression in different cell types, offering insights into its role in immune responses and potential implications in conditions such as autoimmune diseases and cancer.
LILRB2, also known as leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 2, is known to modulate immune responses by interacting with specific ligands and regulating immune cell activation. Its involvement in immune tolerance and inflammation underscores its importance in understanding and potentially manipulating immune function in various pathological states. Researchers investigating LILRB2 function in diseases such as cancer or autoimmune disorders can benefit from using this antibody to further elucidate its mechanisms and explore therapeutic strategies targeting this receptor.

This gene is a member of the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, which is found in a gene cluster at chromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein belongs to the subfamily B class of LIR receptors which contain two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). The receptor is expressed on immune cells where it binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells and transduces a negative signal that inhibits stimulation of an immune response. It is thought to control inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity to help focus the immune response and limit autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
