The LILRB2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10135) is a valuable tool for researchers studying LILRB2, a immune regulatory receptor known for its role in immune response modulation. This antibody, derived from rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the LILRB2 protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in immunology and cancer research.
LILRB2, also known as leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor B2, is a key player in immune regulation, particularly in dampening excessive immune responses. Its involvement in immune homeostasis makes it a promising target for investigating diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Understanding the function of LILRB2 is crucial for the development of novel therapies that modulate immune activity in these disease settings.

This gene is a member of the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, which is found in a gene cluster at chromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein belongs to the subfamily B class of LIR receptors which contain two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). The receptor is expressed on immune cells where it binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells and transduces a negative signal that inhibits stimulation of an immune response. It is thought to control inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity to help focus the immune response and limit autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
