The LIFR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12783) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the LIFR protein, which plays a crucial role in cell signaling and regulation of cellular growth and differentiation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting LIFR in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. The LIFR protein, also known as Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Receptor, is involved in the activation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway and plays a key role in mediating the effects of growth factors and cytokines on various cellular processes. Dysregulation of LIFR signaling has been implicated in cancer, inflammation, and neurological disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention.
By using the LIFR Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and quantify LIFR expression in different cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its function and potential as a therapeutic target. This antibody is an essential tool for studies in cancer biology, immunology, and developmental biology, advancing our understanding of LIFR-related diseases and offering new opportunities for targeted therapies.

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. This protein combines with a high-affinity converter subunit, gp130, to form a receptor complex that mediates the action of the leukemia inhibitory factor, a polyfunctional cytokine that is involved in cellular differentiation, proliferation and survival in the adult and the embryo. Mutations in this gene cause Schwartz-Jampel syndrome type 2, a disease belonging to the group of the bent-bone dysplasias. A translocation that involves the promoter of this gene, t(5;8)(p13;q12) with the pleiomorphic adenoma gene 1, is associated with salivary gland pleiomorphic adenoma, a common type of benign epithelial tumor of the salivary gland. Multiple splice variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
