The LDHA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1146) is a valuable tool for researchers studying lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), an enzyme that plays a crucial role in energy production and metabolism in cells. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to LDHA, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of the enzyme in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in metabolism, cancer research, and drug development.
LDHA is a key player in the Warburg effect, a metabolic phenotype commonly observed in cancer cells where they rely on glycolysis for energy production even in the presence of oxygen. Targeting LDHA has emerged as a promising strategy for developing novel anticancer therapies. This antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the role of LDHA in cancer progression and metabolic reprogramming, opening up new avenues for therapeutic interventions.

The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of L-lactate and NAD to pyruvate and NADH in the final step of anaerobic glycolysis. The protein is found predominantly in muscle tissue and belongs to the lactate dehydrogenase family. Mutations in this gene have been linked to exertional myoglobinuria. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The human genome contains several non-transcribed pseudogenes of this gene.
