The LAPTm4a Monoclonal Antibody (PACO58164) is a vital tool for researchers studying LAPTm4a, a membrane protein involved in various cellular functions. This antibody, produced through a specialized monoclonal antibody development process, shows high specificity and sensitivity for detecting LAPTm4a in human samples. Validated for use in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry applications, this antibody allows for precise localization and visualization of the LAPTm4a protein in different cell types.LAPTm4a, also known as lysosomal-associated transmembrane protein 4A, is implicated in lysosomal trafficking and autophagy processes, making it a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
Its role in cellular clearance pathways and organelle function highlights its importance in research areas such as cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders. By studying the functions and interactions of LAPTm4a, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
IHC image of PACO58164 diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human adrenal gland tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with PACO58164 at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
IHC image of PACO58164 diluted at 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human cervical cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system.

NCBI Summary:
This gene encodes a protein that has four predicted transmembrane domains. The function of this gene has not yet been determined; however, studies in the mouse homolog suggest a role in the transport of small molecules across endosomal and lysosomal membranes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
