The LALBA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12690) is a powerful tool for researchers studying lactalbumin alpha (LALBA), a key protein found in milk. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting. By binding specifically to the LALBA protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in different cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in nutrition science, dairy technology, and lactation research.
LALBA, a major whey protein in milk, is essential for the growth and development of newborns, providing crucial nutrients and immune factors. Research on LALBA can provide valuable insights into milk production, infant nutrition, and dairy product quality. By understanding the functions and regulations of LALBA, researchers can improve dairy products, develop new nutritional supplements, and enhance the health benefits of milk for consumers worldwide.

This gene encodes alpha-lactalbumin, a principal protein of milk. Alpha-lactalbumin forms the regulatory subunit of the lactose synthase (LS) heterodimer and beta 1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta4Gal-T1) forms the catalytic component. Together, these proteins enable LS to produce lactose by transfering galactose moieties to glucose. As a monomer, alpha-lactalbumin strongly binds calcium and zinc ions and may possess bactericidal or antitumor activity. A folding variant of alpha-lactalbumin, called HAMLET, likely induces apoptosis in tumor and immature cells.
