The LAIR1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10120) is a powerful tool for researchers studying LAIR1, a cell surface molecule involved in immune regulation and the inhibition of immune responses. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. Its ability to bind specifically to the LAIR1 protein enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an excellent choice for investigations in immunology and cancer research.LAIR1, also known as the Leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor-1, plays a crucial role in maintaining immune balance by regulating inflammatory processes and dampening immune reactions.
Its impact on immune response modulation positions it as a key target for research into diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Deepening our understanding of LAIR1's function is essential for developing targeted therapies that manipulate immune activity in these disease settings.

The protein encoded by this gene is an inhibitory receptor found on peripheral mononuclear cells, including natural killer cells, T cells, and B cells. Inhibitory receptors regulate the immune response to prevent lysis of cells recognized as self. The gene is a member of both the immunoglobulin superfamily and the leukocyte-associated inhibitory receptor family. The gene maps to a region of 19q13.4 called the leukocyte receptor cluster, which contains at least 29 genes encoding leukocyte-expressed receptors of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein has been identified as an anchor for tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1, and may induce cell death in myeloid leukemias. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
