Description
L1 Antibody (PACO32592)
The L1 Monoclonal Antibody (PAC032592) is a specialized tool for researchers studying L1, a cell adhesion molecule important for neural development and plasticity. This antibody, developed and validated in mouse models, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting L1 protein in various experimental settings, particularly in immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry applications.L1, also known as neural cell adhesion molecule L1, plays a key role in neuronal migration, axon guidance, and synaptic plasticity within the nervous system.
Dysregulation of L1 expression has been implicated in neurological disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, and epilepsy, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target for treating these conditions. By using the L1 antibody, researchers can better understand the function and regulation of L1 in neural processes, paving the way for innovative therapies and interventions in neurological research.

Background: | Forms an icosahedral capsid with a T=7 symmetry and a 50 nm diameter. The capsid is composed of 72 pentamers linked to each other by disulfide bonds and associated with L2 proteins. Binds to heparan sulfate proteoglycans on the basement membrane to provide initial virion attachment to target cells. Basement membrane is exposed only after epithelium trauma. Additionally, the alpha6 integrin complexed with either beta1 or beta4 integrin has been proposed to act as a coreceptor recognized by L1. Once attached, integrin complexed with beta4 integrin has been proposed to act as a coreceptor recognized by L1. Once attached, the virion enters the host cell via clathrin-mediated endocytosis and the genomic DNA is released to the host nucleus. The virion assembly takes place within the cell nucleus. Encapsulates the genomic DNA together with protein L2. |

UniProt Protein Function: | Forms an icosahedral capsid with a T=7 symmetry and a 50 nm diameter. The capsid is composed of 72 pentamers linked to each other by disulfide bonds and associated with L2 proteins. Binds to heparan sulfate proteoglycans on cell surface of basal layer keratinocytes to provide initial virion attachment. This binding mediates a conformational change in the virus capsid that facilitates efficient infection. The virion enters the host cell via endocytosis. During virus trafficking, L1 protein dissociates from the viral DNA and the genomic DNA is released to the host nucleus. The virion assembly takes place within the cell nucleus. Encapsulates the genomic DNA together with protein L2. |
