The KRT3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10118) is a valuable research tool designed for studying keratin 3, a structural protein found in epithelial cells. This antibody is produced in rabbits and exhibits high reactivity with human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications, including Western blot analysis. By binding specifically to the KRT3 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a wide range of cell types.Keratin 3 is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells, particularly in tissues like the skin, hair, and nails.
Research on KRT3 is important for understanding various skin disorders, wound healing processes, and the development of potential therapies. The KRT3 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the role of keratin 3 in these biological processes and its implications in diseases related to epithelial cell dysfunction.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the corneal epithelium with family member KRT12 and mutations in these genes have been associated with Meesmann's Corneal Dystrophy. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13.
