Description
KRT18 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT2G3AT] (CPAB0437)
The KRT18 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0437) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the protein Keratin 18 (KRT18). This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications to detect and analyze KRT18 in various cell types.Keratin 18 is a type I intermediate filament protein that is commonly found in epithelial cells, where it plays a key role in maintaining cell structure and integrity. Aberrant expression or mutations in KRT18 have been linked to various diseases, including liver diseases, breast cancer, and pancreatitis.
Understanding the role of KRT18 in these conditions is crucial for developing targeted therapies and diagnostic tools.By using the KRT18 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the function and expression of KRT18 in different biological contexts, advancing our understanding of its role in health and disease. This antibody is a reliable tool for studies in cancer research, cell biology, and molecular biology, providing high-quality results and reproducibility in experiments.

Background: | KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18. Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family. They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body. Mutations in this gene have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. |
