Description
KRT17 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT9F3AT] (CPAB0628)
The KRT17 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0628) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Keratin 17 (KRT17), a protein involved in the structural integrity of epithelial cells. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.KRT17 is a type I keratin protein that is typically found in hair follicles, nails, and certain glands. Aberrant expression of KRT17 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and skin disorders. By using the KRT17 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the expression of KRT17 in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its role in normal physiology and disease pathology.
This antibody is an essential tool for studies in dermatology, oncology, and cell biology, allowing researchers to further explore the functions of KRT17 and its potential as a therapeutic target. By understanding the mechanisms underlying KRT17 regulation and expression, new treatment strategies may be developed for conditions associated with KRT17 dysregulation.

Background: | Cytokeratin 17 also known as KRT17 is a type I cytokeratin. KRT17 is found in nail beds, hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and other epidermal appendages. Mutations in KRT17 lead to Jackson-Lawler type pachyonychia congenita and steatocystoma multiplex. KRT17 takes part in the formation and maintenance of a variety of skin appendages, particularly in determining shape and orientation of hair. KRT17 also modulates the function of TNF-alpha in the precise context of hair cycling. Moreover, KRT17 regulates protein synthesis and epithelial cell growth all through binding to the adapter protein SFN and by stimulating Akt/mTOR pathway. |
