The KRT1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB11958) is a valuable tool for researchers studying keratin 1, a key structural protein found in the skin and other epithelial tissues. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is specifically validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the KRT1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for studies in dermatology, wound healing, and skin cancer research.Keratin 1 is essential for maintaining the structural integrity and barrier function of the skin, and abnormalities in its expression have been implicated in various skin disorders, including ichthyosis and disorders of keratinization.
By understanding the role of KRT1 in skin homeostasis and pathology, researchers can gain insights into the development and progression of skin diseases, ultimately leading to the identification of potential therapeutic targets for intervention. The KRT1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for unraveling the complexities of keratin biology and its implications for skin health and disease.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 200-450 of human Cytokeratin 1 (Cytokeratin 1 (KRT1)) (NP_006112.3).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis with family member KRT10 and mutations in these genes have been associated with bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13.
