The Protein S100-A4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1631) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the S100-A4 protein, a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins known to play a role in cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. This antibody, produced in rabbits, specifically targets human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.S100-A4 is of particular interest in cancer research, as it has been implicated in tumor growth, metastasis, and resistance to therapy. By using this antibody to detect and analyze S100-A4 expression in various cell types, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms by which this protein contributes to cancer progression.
Furthermore, the S100-A4 Polyclonal Antibody can also be used in studies of other conditions such as inflammatory diseases and fibrosis, where S100-A4 has been found to play a role in regulating immune responses and tissue remodeling. By uncovering the pathways through which S100-A4 operates, researchers can potentially identify new targets for therapeutic intervention.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in motility, invasion, and tubulin polymerization. Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression of this gene have been implicated in tumor metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
