The PON2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19852) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the enzyme paraoxonase 2 (PON2) and its role in oxidative stress and lipid metabolism. This antibody, derived from rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is specifically validated for use in Western blot applications.PON2 is an important member of the paraoxonase family of enzymes, known for their antioxidant properties and ability to protect against oxidative damage. PON2 has been linked to various physiological processes, including lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cell survival.
Its dysregulation has been associated with several diseases, including cardiovascular disorders and neurodegenerative conditions.By utilizing the PON2 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can effectively detect and analyze PON2 protein expression in different cell types, allowing for a better understanding of its mechanisms of action. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigations in the fields of metabolism, cardiovascular health, and neurodegenerative diseases, offering insights that may ultimately lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

This gene encodes a member of the paraoxonase gene family, which includes three known members located adjacent to each other on the long arm of chromosome 7. The encoded protein is ubiquitously expressed in human tissues, membrane-bound, and may act as a cellular antioxidant, protecting cells from oxidative stress. Hydrolytic activity against acylhomoserine lactones, important bacterial quorum-sensing mediators, suggests the encoded protein may also play a role in defense responses to pathogenic bacteria. Mutations in this gene may be associated with vascular disease and a number of quantitative phenotypes related to diabetes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
