The NME1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17999) is a valuable tool for researchers studying NME1, a protein involved in tumor metastasis and cell proliferation. This antibody, derived from rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot analysis. By targeting NME1, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of NME1 expression in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in cancer research and metastasis.NME1, also known as nucleoside diphosphate kinase A, plays a critical role in regulating cell motility, invasiveness, and metastasis in cancer cells.
Its involvement in cellular processes related to tumor progression makes it a key area of interest for researchers seeking to understand and potentially target metastatic disease. The NME1 Polyclonal Antibody provides a powerful tool for investigating the function and regulation of NME1, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.
This gene (NME1) was identified because of its reduced mRNA transcript levels in highly metastatic cells. Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) exists as a hexamer composed of 'A' (encoded by this gene) and 'B' (encoded by NME2) isoforms. Mutations in this gene have been identified in aggressive neuroblastomas. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Co-transcription of this gene and the neighboring downstream gene (NME2) generates naturally-occurring transcripts (NME1-NME2), which encodes a fusion protein comprised of sequence sharing identity with each individual gene product.
