The KO Validated ETFA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19937) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ETFA, a key protein involved in electron transfer processes in the mitochondria. Produced in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific and reacts well with human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the ETFA protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of ETFA in various cell types, providing valuable insights for studies in bioenergetics and metabolic disorders.ETFA is a critical component of the electron transfer flavoprotein complex, playing a crucial role in the mitochondrial beta-oxidation pathway.
Dysregulation of ETFA has been linked to metabolic diseases, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions. Research on ETFA is essential for understanding mitochondrial function and energy metabolism, with implications for diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and fatty acid oxidation disorders. The KO Validated ETFA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19937) provides researchers with a reliable tool to further investigate the functions and dysregulation of ETFA in these contexts.

ETFA participates in catalyzing the initial step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation. It shuttles electrons between primary flavoprotein dehydrogenases and the membrane-bound electron transfer flavoprotein ubiquinone oxidoreductase. Defects in electron-transfer-flavoprotein have been implicated in type II glutaricaciduria in which multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiencies result in large excretion of glutaric, lactic, ethylmalonic, butyric, isobutyric, 2-methyl-butyric, and isovaleric acids. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
