The CBX3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2248) is a versatile tool for researchers interested in studying the CBX3 protein, an essential component of the chromobox family that plays a crucial role in gene regulation and chromatin organization. This antibody, generated in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.CBX3, also known as HP1 gamma, is involved in various cellular processes, including transcriptional regulation, DNA repair, and heterochromatin formation. Its aberrant expression has been linked to diseases like cancer, developmental disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By targeting CBX3 with this antibody, researchers can investigate its function in diverse cell types and unravel its role in disease progression. With its superior sensitivity and specificity, the CBX3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2248) is an invaluable tool for advancing research in fields such as epigenetics, oncology, and neurobiology. By enabling precise detection and analysis of CBX3 protein levels, this antibody facilitates in-depth studies that can lead to breakthroughs in our understanding of gene regulation and disease mechanisms.
At the nuclear envelope, the nuclear lamina and heterochromatin are adjacent to the inner nuclear membrane. The protein encoded by this gene binds DNA and is a component of heterochromatin. This protein also can bind lamin B receptor, an integral membrane protein found in the inner nuclear membrane. The dual binding functions of the encoded protein may explain the association of heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane. This protein binds histone H3 tails methylated at Lys-9 sites. This protein is also recruited to sites of ultraviolet-induced DNA damage and double-strand breaks. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein but differing in the 5' UTR, have been found for this gene.
