The AK4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19854) is a valuable tool for researchers studying AK4, a key enzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism. This rabbit-derived antibody is highly specific to human samples and has been rigorously validated for use in Western blotting applications. By binding to the AK4 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolism and cellular bioenergetics.AK4, also known as adenylate kinase 4, plays a pivotal role in maintaining cellular energy balance by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate groups between adenine nucleotides.
Dysregulation of AK4 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and metabolic disorders. By exploring the mechanisms underlying AK4 function, researchers can gain insights into the pathophysiology of these conditions and identify potential therapeutic targets for intervention.Overall, the AK4 Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for studying the role of AK4 in cellular energy metabolism and its implications for human health. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an invaluable asset for advancing our understanding of metabolic pathways and developing targeted therapies for metabolic disorders and cancer.

This gene encodes a member of the adenylate kinase family of enzymes. The encoded protein is localized to the mitochondrial matrix. Adenylate kinases regulate the adenine and guanine nucleotide compositions within a cell by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate group among these nucleotides. Five isozymes of adenylate kinase have been identified in vertebrates. Expression of these isozymes is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. A pseudogene for this gene has been located on chromosome 17. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. Sequence alignment suggests that the gene defined by NM_013410, NM_203464, and NM_001005353 is located on chromosome 1.
