The KNG1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13919) is a powerful tool for researchers interested in studying the Kininogen-1 (KNG1) protein, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of blood pressure and inflammation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications.KNG1, a key player in the kallikrein-kinin system, is involved in various physiological processes including vasodilation, coagulation, and inflammation. Dysregulation of KNG1 has been linked to cardiovascular diseases, sepsis, and other inflammatory conditions, making it a promising target for drug development and diagnostic purposes.
By utilizing the KNG1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the expression and function of KNG1 in different cell types and tissues, paving the way for advancements in cardiovascular research, inflammatory disorder treatments, and personalized medicine approaches. This antibody is a valuable tool for scientists looking to unravel the complexities of the kallikrein-kinin system and its implications in health and disease.

This gene uses alternative splicing to generate two different proteins- high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK) and low molecular weight kininogen (LMWK). HMWK is essential for blood coagulation and assembly of the kallikrein-kinin system. Also, bradykinin, a peptide causing numerous physiological effects, is released from HMWK. Bradykinin also functions as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity. In contrast to HMWK, LMWK is not involved in blood coagulation. Infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) reduces or depletes angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which results in an increase in levels of des-Arg(9)-bradykinin, a bioactive metabolite of bradykinin that is associated with lung injury and inflammation. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
