The Bcl-xL Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for research involving the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-xL, which plays a crucial role in regulating cell survival and apoptosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is specifically designed for use in Western blot applications and has been validated for its high reactivity with human samples.Bcl-xL is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins and is known for its ability to promote cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis. Dysregulation of Bcl-xL has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By binding to the Bcl-xL protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of Bcl-xL expression in different cell types, providing valuable insights for studies in oncology and cell biology.Researchers studying apoptosis, cancer biology, and drug development can benefit from using the Bcl-xL Polyclonal Antibody to investigate the role of Bcl-xL in cell survival and disease progression. By understanding the mechanisms underlying Bcl-xL function, novel therapeutic strategies may be developed to target Bcl-xL for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the BCL-2 protein family. BCL-2 family members form hetero- or homodimers and act as anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators that are involved in a wide variety of cellular activities. The proteins encoded by this gene are located at the outer mitochondrial membrane, and have been shown to regulate outer mitochondrial membrane channel (VDAC) opening. VDAC regulates mitochondrial membrane potential, and thus controls the production of reactive oxygen species and release of cytochrome C by mitochondria, both of which are the potent inducers of cell apoptosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding two different isoforms. The longer isoform acts as an apoptotic inhibitor and the shorter isoform acts as an apoptotic activator.
